More on B.C. moves Mike Reilly, signs Shawn Gore

The latest casualty of Wally Buono’s wheeling and dealing is backup quarterback Mike Reilly, who will be heading to the Edmonton Eskimos.
Reilly was traded to Edmonton in exchange for a second round pick in the 2014 draft. The Eskimos obviously share his belief that he can be a number one quarterback.
It’s rumoured the Blue Bombers were also interested , but they couldn’t promise him the starting job or the money.
Is it a good move for the Lions?
Reilly got the job done when Travis Lulay was injured, but backup quarterbacks come and go and Buono has always managed to find more. He was going to be eligible for free agency in February, so not only did Wally get a draft pick instead of nothing, he has also given Reilly the opportunity he wanted.
As for the Lions’ QB situation, look for Thomas DeMarco take over the backup role unless Jarrett Brown impresses at training camp.
The Lions also re-signed wide receiver Shawn Gore. Gore led the Lions in receiving yards this season and his role will increase with the departure of Geroy Simon and Arland Bruce III.
