NFL Week 3: The Best of the Undefeated Teams
Written on September 28, 2011 at 13:41, by HTTN
Three weeks into the 2011 NFL season, 3 teams hold undefeated 3-0 records. Our NFL expert, Geoff Lowe, tackles the burning question on everyone’s mind – which of them is the best?
Packers: The Defending Champs
The Green Bay Packers have faced tough competition on the road to their 3-0 season, defeating the Saints, Panthers and Bears.
Aaron Rodgers has the highest passer rating in the NFL at 120.9. and the team is ranked 8th in total offense.

On the other side of the ball, the Packers have allowed 34, 23, and 17 points in their 3 games so far, and they are ranked 29th in overall defense.
NFL fans know it doesn’t matter how well your offense plays is if your defense is giving up nearly 25 points per game. Green Bay’s D needs to tighten up or dreams of a repeat will soon be dashed.
The Bills Are Charging
The Buffalo Bills were 2-0 after the first two weeks of the season but people were still skeptical. No one believed in the Bills. Plus, they were taking on Tom Brady (the league’s best quarterback) and the Patriots in week 3.
After coming back from a 21 point deficit on Sunday, people are starting to believe. Here’s a fact:
The Bills have scored the most points in the NFL with 113 points.
Yes, you read that correctly.
That’s 41, 38, and 34 points against Kansas City, Oakland, and New England, respectively.

Like the Packers, their defense is suspect. So far this season, they are giving up almost 400 yards a game, and in their last 2, they’ve put themselves in double digits holes.
The Bills will never be an elite team if their defense doesn’t improve.
Then There’s The Lions
The Detroit Lions haven’t won a playoff game in 54 years and have never been to a Superbowl. Looks like things might actually be moving in the right direction, though…
Matthew Stafford is proving that he’s not all hype, and is leading the 10th ranked offense in the league. With 6 touchdowns, Calvin Johnson is the best receiver out there.

Their 6th ranked defense nearly shut out Kansas City in week 1 allowing only 3 points and against the Vikings this past week, they allowed only 3 second-half points.
The Best Of The Best
After three weeks of the 2011 season, the proof is in the pudding. It’s clear that Lions are the best undefeated team in the NFL.
