March wallpaper looks and smells good
February 2012 is a month Canucks fans may never forget. If Cody Hodgson’s first game in Buffalo is any indication (it’s all I’ve got to go on), we’ll all be watching Sabres’ statistics as closely as the Canucks’ as long as he plays there.
Time to turn the page! On the month, that is. Turning the page on Hodgson may have to wait until this Saturday’s game is finished, because he’s coming back to face his former team in an HNIC matchup. That’s a huge game.
Highlights of March schedule
1. The Canucks kick off the month with a first place showdown against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, March 1. Yup, a first place showdown. Hopefully the Canucks aren’t as surprised by this as I am.
2. Cody Hodgson FINALLY makes his return to Rogers Arena on Saturday, March 3. Do me a favour. If you’re sitting next to that clueless person who says, “What? Hodgson’s on the Sabres??” tell him/her he’s a waste of a ticket.
3. The Winnipeg Jets play their first game in Vancouver in 16 years and 1 month. Just another one of the many quirks in Bettman’s NHL schedule, I guess.
4. The Montreal Canadiens are in town March 10. Canucks fans, start preparing your comebacks now. Their line: “At least we’ve won the Cup!” Yes, they’re as unoriginal as Leafs fans. You can handle this assignment.
5. The Canucks face the Stars 3 times. Sooner or later Francesco Aquelini and Tom Gaglardi will bump into each other and drop the gloves, right?
That’s it. I’m not giving the Flames the dignity of thinking they’re exciting to the Canucks anymore.
