Two Guys Riding To Conquer Cancer

Once in a while, I have a chance to use this blog for a cause that’s bigger than the Canucks or any professional sport. Since it’s hockey’s off-season, now seems like a wonderful time to do just that.
Two friends of mine – Faisal Hussainaly and Jamil Ladha – have decided to make a difference in the fight against cancer by participating in the Enbridge Ride To Conquer Cancer. Their journey begins tomorrow, and over two days, they will ride a total of 236 kilometers, starting in Surrey, BC and ending in Redmond, WA. (That’s a long way, people)
Take a closer look at the map.
From the Ride To Conquer Cancer’s website:
It is a unique fundraising event benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation, a B.C. based charity that raises funds for the BC Cancer Agency – a province-wide, population-based cancer control organization. The funds you raise stay in B.C. and benefit cancer patients across all of British Columbia.
Faisal and Jamil:

You may be wondering why you should care about two random guys who are doing a random bike ride, but just think: 2 out of 5 people are diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. That means that out of Head to the Net’s 5 readers, 2 of you will be affected! (By the way, the 5 of you are seriously awesome)
The question: will 2 of you; will 40% of you donate to the B.C. Cancer Society during your lifetime? Because that money, sure as hell, will help someone close to you someday.
If you haven’t donated to the B.C. Cancer Society at some point in your life, this is a wonderful chance to start. Here’s the link to Faisal’s page.
